San Angelo Area Foundation

Area Foundation News - Fall, 2006

[Page 1] Four years and growing...

The San Angelo Area Foundation began just four years ago, and thanks to the generous citizens of our area, those four years have been an inspiring success story. Here are a few highlights:

  • Photo - Matt LewisAssets have grown to more than $20 million.
  • Contributions from more than 1,500 different donors.
  • More than $1.3 million given away in grants and scholarships.
  • More than 180 scholarships awarded.
  • More than 80 organizations received grants.

I am particularly inspired by our endowed funds that will continue to give, forever! The combined gifts from more than 1,500 donors of $19.2 million have been wisely invested, allowing the Foundation to give away more than $1.3 million, and have assets in excess of $20 million. This truly reflects the goal of charitable endowments at the San Angelo Area Foundation.

The Foundation has been blessed to work with a variety of philanthropists who have altruistic dreams, and it has been a privilege to help them carry out their dreams. Because of these wonderful people, including the readers of this newsletter, the future looks extremely bright for our children and future generations, as well as the many charitable causes we hold dear.
