Area Foundation News - Summer, 2005
[Page 1] More than 50 Area Students Benefit from Scholarships
The year 2005 has been an exciting one with the completion of the spring scholarship cycle. This spring the Foundation awarded more than 50 scholarships totaling more than $50,000you can meet some of the recipients on the next two pages of this newsletter. Even more exciting: we get to award more scholarships, year after year!

The Area Foundation honored scholarship recipients
at a luncheon in May.
Endowing a fund for a scholarship is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy that will help young people of our area pursue their dreams of a college education. As of this newsletter, we have grown to 36 endowed scholarship funds. These funds will continue to grow, and the prospects of more endowments point to a bright future.
While spring saw a busy scholarship frenzy, we are now gearing up for grant-making opportunities. The Foundation accepts grant requests all year and begins the process of selecting recipients during the fall. My thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Foundations discretionary fund that provides for effective and efficient grant making to help the pressing needs of our area.
Grants and scholarships would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. We are blessed to have more than 85 funds that total more than $12 million in assets. All of this in only three years! If you are interested in establishing a fund, or making a donation to an existing fund, please visit this page or give us a call to find out more!
